Session Information

I am currently offering counselling sessions online, in-person (Edinburgh) and outdoors:

Getting to the point where you are seeking out therapy can be daunting, especially if it’s your first time. My approach to counselling is to meet you where you’re at, this means no session is exactly the same, my approach naturally changes depending on who I’m working with and what they are brining to therapy. However, in a general sense, here are some things you can expect from our first sessions together:

  • A safe, compassionate and welcoming space to explore whatever you want to at your pace. There is no rush or expectations.

  • In our first session we will explore our contract, an agreement we make to create boundaries, establish expectations and explore your hopes for therapy.

  • In-person offering: an accessible space, a welcoming environment, a wee warm cup of tea/water, tissues & individual additions depending on what you need.

  • Some of my online suggestions for you: find a comfy cosy space at home: ideally a space you can use regularly, this can help you mind create a familiar “this is where we do therapy” space, always have a warm drink at hand therapy can be thirsty work, have a wee tissues around too, it can be comforting to give yourself a tissue if tears come.
